Our Catholic Identity Sets Us Apart
St. Agnes is committed to honoring the Catholic tradition that is so integral to our identity. It starts with
our school’s history.
St. Agnes was founded by Mother Pauline Gannon, O.P., Prioress of the Dominican Sisters of Houston, Texas, in the early 1900s. St. Agnes was accredited by the Texas Conference of Catholic Bishops Education Department and is now affiliated with the following educational associations:
Catholic Schools of the Galveston-Houston Diocese
The National Catholic Educational Association
The Texas Catholic Conference Education Department in conjunction with the Texas Education Agency, Cognia
The College Board
Today, we continue our dedication to our
Dominican, Catholic identity. Through regular Mass, Dominican feast days, holy days of obligation, and the work of our faculty and student leaders on Campus Ministry and Dominican Preaching Team, St. Agnes joins together to observe our Dominican heritage.
We stay rooted in the Dominican motto “veritas,” meaning truth, which guides the educational and academic journey of our students and faculty at St. Agnes.
